A Scary Story Of An Employee At Walmart
I read some Walmart stories about creeps following and loitering around. Also, I have been a witness to some really shady Walmart officials from the upper management, who get things done the way they want them. In a corporate structure, all they care about is the results and charts. They rarely value the lives of the people working there. We are not robots. We are humans. Anyway, let me tell you my story from the time I was a part of Walmart.
I worked for Walmart about 12 years ago for a whopping total of over 10 months. I worked the overnight shift. I was an Overnight Stocker for the pets’ department. The Walmart store that I worked at, had just got a brand new high-rise shelf installed. They were said to be able to hold a weight of over a ton. Well, one night after getting all my regular freight stocked, and the overstock put into the bins, my bosses had me pull 8 pallets of Arm & Hammer cat litter. These boxes had a bonus of 10 pounds inside, making them nearly 35 or so pounds a piece.
My bosses wanted all of those boxes on the new high-rise shelves. I asked if they were absolutely sure the shelves would be able to handle all that weight. I even threw some tantrums about it, because I knew that I was in the right, for being worried about its capacity to hold so much weight. Other department managers that were present over there also sided with me. But I had to listen to my bosses. Eventually, they watched over the next couple of hours, as I carefully did my job of putting the boxes on those high-rise shelves. As I was putting the final 12 boxes on the bottom shelf, I heard a loud cracking and tearing sound, and the next thing that I know is that I'm buried underneath all of the cat litter, that had caused the shelves to collapse.
It was so loud that everybody in the store heard it happen. I mean it literally came crashing down. And everybody was explicitly told not to dial 911 or anything. Imagine that shit! After getting all my blood cleaned from my face and all the cuts patched up, I called my uncle's then-girlfriend, a lawyer. I told her everything about what had just occurred, and what the upper management was attempting to do. As of today, I still haven't spent all the money I received due to going to court over it. This is just one incident from my Walmart experiences!
